My Story: Although I no longer remember it, in 2005 when I was just 4 years old my parents brought me to an outdoor medical clinic in my area of Pestel. The clinic was run by a medical team that was working with the New Life Children's Home. I am named Wendy, and the clinic found me to be in very poor condition. Not only was my body quite skeletal, but I was suffering from severe malnourishment and the latter stages of tuberculosis. My condition was so poor that the medical team knew that I would only survive with extensive medical care. Thankfully New Life took me in, and the long road to recovery began. It is more than 10 years later, and I am now a healthy and active teen! I roller skate and play soccer, and enjoy many activities here with my friends. I hope that one day I will become an electrician. I am so grateful to the Lord and for the staff here at New Life for giving me the opportunity, not only to survive but to thrive!
